Message to Parents, July 11, 2014

 

Just a quick update regarding the court hearing this morning in Dr. Wheeler’s criminal case, which I mentioned in my message yesterday. This was the second hearing on a defense motion to suppress the evidence of child pornography found on Dr. Wheeler’s personal computer during the search of his residence last October. This hearing was scheduled because the prosecution and defense submitted additional legal briefs to the court on June 12, following the initial hearing on this motion on May 23. At this morning’s hearing no additional evidence or testimony was presented, only the legal arguments of counsel. Dr. Wheeler was not present. At the conclusion of the hearing the judge said he will issue a ruling on the motion in an expedited manner. We anticipate that there will be news coverage of the hearing.
