Forum Speakers Discuss Digital Revolution

November 12 was Tower Hill’s first evening Forum of the year. The two speakers were Ralph Begleiter and David Hoffman, both distinguished journalists who had a discussion on the digital revolution in media and its impacts. Both speakers went into detail on how the media has changed due to technology, the future of journalism and its irreversible implications on society. With traditional publishing failing and the proliferation of online information, both speakers encouraged students, as good citizens, to not believe everything they read.

Begleiter is the Director of the Center for Political Communications at the University of Delaware and worked for two decades in CNN’s Washington bureau as its world affairs correspondent where he reported from seven continents and a hundred countries. David Hoffman was foreign editor of The Washington Post and has written several books.
