Fun-Filled Hoops for Habitat/Ronald McDonald Benefit Event Raises $1,700

The Hoops for Habitat/Ronald McDonald House benefit event on February 22 raised over $1,700 to support Habitat for Humanity and the Ronald McDonald House. A large number of items were also collected for the family rooms at the Ronald McDonald House. New this year was the wing bowl, which was a huge hit, with junior Chris Martel coming out on top as the Wing Bowl 2013 champion. Students also participated in pre-game and halftime contests. The faculty/alum vs. student basketball game was exciting as usual. In the end youth dominated, and students overcame their opponents 52-47. The event was sponsored by the Jefferson Awards Club. The Jefferson Awards are national and local programs recognizing public service in America.

Thanks to all who came out to support the organizations as well as the players!
