Tower Hill Students Place Third in Chess State Championships

Congratulations to the Tower Hill "ChessNuts" team who captured third place in the Pennsylvania State Scholastic Chess Championships.

On March 9 and 10, the Tower Hill School "ChessNuts" team of Henry Li (Fifth Grade), Daniel Petrylka (Fifth Grade), Kieran Petrunich (Fourth Grade) and Reece Petrunich (First Grade), participated in the Pennsylvania State Scholastic Chess Championships in Carlisle, PA, and took home third place in the K-9 U1000 division. 
 
Additionally, Henry won 7th place overall in this division and Kieran Petrunich won 1st place in the U600 section and 10th overall in this division. Nicholas Lenhard (Fourth Grade) and Kieran tied for 10th place overall in the K-6 U800 division, helping Chess Masters of Delaware win 2nd place in the K-3 division and 1st place in the K-6 division. 
 
The students will all be participating in the SuperNationals in Nashville, TN this weekend. The team is coached by Gregory Rogers of Chess Masters of DE.
