Middle School Math League Team Captures 1st in Region

The two Middle School Math League teams placed first and third in the region with individual students placing first, third, fourth and fifth.
This year a group of ten eighth grade students elected to compete in the Delaware Math League Competition. Our group consisted of two eighth grade teams. These teams competed in four meets during the winter against other schools in our area and had a very successful season.

The Tower Hill Team 2, consisting of Ariana Abbrescia, Lydia Brownell, Georgia Kollias, Luke Solacoff and Neel Vidwans placed first in our region and the Tower Hill Team 1, consisting of Ann Guzzetta, Warren Harmon, Emily Katz, Lexi Longo and Alexandra Pfleegor placed third in our region. There were many noteworthy individual performances by Luke Solacoff who tied for first place, Ariana Abbrescia who tied for third place, Alexandra Pfleegor and Neel Vidwans who tied for fourth place and Georgia Kollias who tied for fifth place in our region.

As a result of Tower Hill Team 2’s first place standing, they were invited to Dover to compete in a statewide competition on Monday, April 8. These students represented Tower Hill in this invitational meet where they competed against twenty-four different teams and did very well. The students and their parents enjoyed themselves at the dinner and banquet, which followed the competition.
