ChessNuts Win State Championship
On April 21, members of Tower Hill's chess team, the ChessNuts, won the Delaware state elementary school chess championship. Team members included 5th grader Henry Li, 5th grader Daniel Petrylka and 4th grader Nicholas Lenhard.
Defending his title, Henry Li was announced the Delaware State Champion for the second year in a row. Daniel Petrylka walked away with a 3rd place overall trophy in his section. All players received a certificate of participation.
ChessNuts is one of the many enrichment programs offered by the Tower Hill After School program. Greg Rogers, director of Chess Masters of Delaware, is the team's coach.
