Welcome to New Faculty and Staff


Tower Hill welcomes eleven new faculty and staff to the school this year. We also recognize and congratulate four faculty on their new assignments.
Jeffrey Addis: Upper School History
Jeffrey has a B. A. from Bates College and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Bard College. Jeff's undergraduate majors were religion and anthropology, and he also has a minor in Asian Studies. His concentrations in graduate school were U.S. and World History. After his graduation from Bard, Jeff spent three years at Woodhall School, a boarding school in Connecticut.
 
Vilma Andrews: Receptionist
Vilma Andrews has been hired as our Receptionist and will join the Tower Hill Community on August 21. For the past five years Vilma has worked at Upland Country Day School as the Administrative Assistant to the Head of School. Although Upland is a much smaller school, Vilma has experience working with Whipple Hill, the same website provider that Tower Hill uses, and has been through the process of PAIS Accreditation. She is described as "vibrant, self motivated and a versatile utility player in the success of leading operations, facilities and people to achieve short and long-term goals leading to organizational, individual and business success."
 
Ellie Bailer: First Grade
Ellie was a substitute teacher in the Lower School during the last two years while completing her Master of Education in Elementary Education from Wilmington University. She holds a B. A. from Tulane University in Communications. Prior to coming to Tower Hill, she supported the school programming and development departments at Winterthur Museum.
 
Alison Henkel '08: Kindergarten
Ali is well known to many Tower Hill children and their families. She has taught in the After School program since 2010 and substituted in the Lower School. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Delaware, and also had a concentration in French.
 
Dr. Lisa Lindert: Upper School Science 
Dr. Lisa Lindert received her BS in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan and her MS and Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California Santa Barbara. Lisa has taught chemistry and biology at the university level and for two years she taught at Stanford University's On-Line High School. She has been a digital faculty consultant to McGraw Hill Publishers and has worked with MegMada in New York as a content director for Chemistry.
 
Rachel Marlowe: Drama Department 
Rachel is a 2010 graduate of Muhlenberg College with B.A.s in Theater and Dance. She has taught dance in Allentown and West Chester. Rachel has worked in the After School program and with the theater program at Tower Hill since the fall of 2010. During the summer, Rachel performs, choreographs and directs for the Ocean City Theatre Company.
 
Andrew Scibilia: Upper School English
Andrew received a B.A. in history from Brown University in 2007 and an M.A. in English from Villanova in 2010. While at Villanova, Andrew was a teaching assistant. After graduating from Villanova, he was a teaching intern at The Haverford School.
 
Eduardo Silva: Middle School and Upper School French and Spanish teacher
A native Spanish speaker, Eduardo is a graduate of California State University in San Bernardino. He recently lived abroad while working on his Master's degree in French through the Middlebury program in Paris. Eduardo has had various teaching and tutoring experiences with students at the lower and middle school levels, and he has taught English to university students in Paris. 
 
Karen Smith: Business Office Accounts Payable
Karen comes to Tower Hill after 32 years of service in the insurance business. She is a licensed insurance agent in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Karen's primary focus will be to manage the accounts payable responsibilities for the Business Office.
 
Debbie Stuebing: Fourth Grade
Debbie, who has been substituting in the Lower School, will join the fourth-grade team. Debbie's B.S. in Elementary Science and Education has been followed by a number of graduate level courses. She has taught in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District and privately tutored elementary age students.
 
Tim Weymouth: Middle School Science
Tim earned a B.A. in Biology from Hamilton College and an M.A. in Private School Leadership from Columbia University. He has previously taught at Friends Central School, the Fessenden School and St. Peter's School in Philadelphia. For seven years he worked with The Road Less Traveled, leading staff training for 50 wilderness and community service leaders and guiding students on wilderness trips in the U.S., Australia and Norway. His wife Kate Lopez Weymouth '94 is a Tower Hill alumna.
