Language Students Visit Spain: Rich in History, Influenced by Many Cultures

Tower Hill students enjoyed an educational, enriching experience in Spain during the first week of spring break. In addition to delighting in their ability to put their Spanish skills into practice, students learned about and observed the influence that Islam, Christianity, and Judaism historically had on the culture, architecture, art, language and food that makes Spain the rich, beautiful country that it is today. The trip started in Madrid, and included the city center Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, Retiro Park and the Prado museum. They travelled south to Córdoba, Seville and Granada to take in the beauty of Andalusia. They saw a flamenco show and visited Cathedrals, Royal Palaces, and of course, the Alhambra. They even stopped in a small town called Mijas where they took a ride in a donkey taxi.
