Josephine Chu Named U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist


Senior Josephine Chu has been named one of 565 semifinalists from across the country in the 2014 U.S. Presidential Scholars competition. The semifinalists were selected for their superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character and involvement in community and school activities. Josephine is one of seven semifinalists from Delaware.
 
A National Merit Commended Scholar, Josephine has excelled academically and was inducted last year as member of the Cum Laude Society. In addition, she has received numerous music awards including the National High School Flute Choir, All-National Honors Ensemble, All-State Chorus, All-State Band and the Golden Key Music International Festival Award.

Final selection of the Scholars will be made by a group of eminent citizens appointed by the President and will be announced in May.
