Max Frietze Selected for Health Career Scholars Academy

Junior Max Frietze is one of 110 students who have been selected for the University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy this summer. The program is an academically rigorous, residential, hands-on experience for rising juniors and seniors interested in pursuing careers in medicine.

Classes focus on health-care related core courses and concentration courses that vary year to year. The UPHCSA curriculum also includes hospital shadow days and multiple site visits, leadership and team projects, guest speakers, simulation games and independent study. Max was selected based on his academic performance, letters of recommendation, submitted essays and extracurricular activities which include over 150 hours of volunteer service at the Nemours/AI DuPont Hospital for Children.
