DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman '74 Receives Delaware History Makers Award

DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman, who is a Tower Hill graduate and serves as Vice Chair of the school's Board of Trustees, has been honored with the 2014 Delaware History Makers Award from the Delaware Historical Society.

Kullman graduated from Tower Hill School in 1974 and attended Tufts University. Tower Hill history teacher Ed Hughes encouraged Kullman to pursue a career in engineering, as described in coverage by The News Journal of the Delaware History Makers event.

Kullman began her career at DuPont in 1988 and served in a number of leadership positions until 2009, when she was tapped to lead the company. She will return to Tower Hill on Nov. 17 to speak to students as part of the Forum Lecture Series in a conversation with fellow THS graduate and former U.S. Congressman Michael Castle.
