All Fall Sports Teams Compete in DIAA Championships

All five Varsity athletic teams continued to post-season competition this fall in Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) Championship events. The outstanding season highlights the breadth and depth of Tower Hill’s athletic program.
The volleyball team played arguably the most competitive schedule in the state and earned their way into the state tournament, playing their last match Nov. 1.

In cross country, the boys’ team placed second in the DIAA Division II Championships – its best finish in 30 years – with Brendan Harris placing 5th and Hudson Pepper finishing 8th. The Hiller girls, led by 5th-place finisher Raley Abramczyk, came in 4th as a team.

The field hockey team had an unbelievable 4-3 comeback victory over Conrad in triple overtime during the second round of the championship. The team finished a great run against Polytech in the semifinals on Nov. 12.

Varsity soccer had a thrilling 1-0 victory over St. Georges Technical School in the DIAA Division II quarterfinals. The boys played DMA in the semifinals, winning 1-0 with a goal scored late in the second half. They square off against top-seeded Caraval in the championship game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 in Smyrna.

The football team ended the regular season with an impressive record of 8-2 and made the playoffs for the second year in a row. The boys are the #8 seed and will play #1 seed St. Georges Technical High School on Nov. 15.
