Student-Directed Production of "Feiffer's People" is Feb. 6

For the last five months, Tower Hill seniors Caroline De Santis, Brooke Hayman and Kalee Kennedy have taken on the sizable task of directing a play. The culmination of their hard work will take place on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the 1919 Auditorium, where more than 20 Tower Hill teachers and students will perform Feiffer’s People – written by the famed cartoonist, Jules Feiffer.

Early in the process, drama teacher Darla Max suggested that they choose a play structured with short scenes, allowing for the development of small portions of material at a time. Feiffer’s People seemed to fit the bill, and also combined their admiration for the themes of love, comedy and thought-provoking material.

“This has been a fabulous experience for these young directors,” Ms. Max said. “It has also attracted a few students who we have never had on stage before.”

When asked why people should come to the 1919 next Friday night, Kalee Kennedy said, “Because it is student directed. Some of the actors are teachers. And it is REALLY funny!”
