Lower School Chess Team Wins 1st Place in Philadelphia Tournament

On Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, students from Tower Hill participated in a chess tournament at Temple University. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter was in attendance and met players during a meet-and-greet opportunity.

Tower Hill won the 1st place team trophy in the K-3 non-rated section. The Chess Masters of Delaware, which runs Tower Hill's Chess Nuts enrichment program, won 1st place in several sections. 7th graders Henry Li and Daniel Petrykla participated in the K-12 open section. Congratulations to all of our "Chess Nuts"!
