Students Explore Geography in a Very BIG Way

The National Geographic Giant Traveling Map of North America recently arrived at Tower Hill School, courtesy of the Delaware Geographic Alliance. PreK through 8th graders walked on the map, measuring 26 feet by 35 feet and weighing 102 pounds (almost the size of a basketball court) to experience geography in a “hands-on, feet-on” way. History Department Chair Tara Malloy arranged the visit and shared, “By having students physically engage with the map in their various lessons, we hope to help spark a greater interest and understanding of geography and history.”
