Tower Hill’s Middle School Science Olympiad team competed in 22 different events at the Elementary Science Olympiad at St. Mark’s High School on April 18.  The event culminated weekly meetings since January. They had spectacular success this year, with the team earning a total of 24 medals!

The fifth-grade team of Connor Cuddy, Marissa Washburn, Kenyon Motley, Abby Pierce, Bo Gravuer, Jake Pena, Jacques de Ramel, Bella Gattuso and Alex Schlerf earned 10 medals in 6 different events, including:
1st Place: Measurement
2nd Place: Estimation
3rd Place: Human Anatomy
4th Place: Write it/Do It, Light and Mirrors and Our Solar System

The sixth-grade team included Chip Elson, Kieran Petrunich, Nolan Fogarty, Norah Prendergast, Olivia Schwandt, Richard Ren, Sean Vanson, Siena Sysko and Claire Dignazio. This team really competed well, earning 15 medals in seven different events, including no less than FIVE 1st Place awards!

1st Place: Egg Drop, Health and Fitness, Food Science, Measurement and Mystery Architecture
3rd Place: Straw Tower
4th Place: Bridges

Bravo, team!  A special shout out to Norah, who personally earned three 1st Place medals this year. That is unprecedented at Tower Hill!

The Upper School Science Olympiad team competed at Delaware State University last month.  Sabrina Luther and Josephine Thrasher placed 10th in the "Write-it, Do-it" competition. Josephine Thrasher was a finalist for the Innovation award for her entry into the Bungee Jump competition. Great work!
