Tower Hill’s New Model UN Team Competes in Philadelphia

The Tower Hill Model United Nations team participated in the challenging and competitive Ivy League Model United Nations Conference in Philadelphia last weekend. This conference is one of the largest Model UN competitions in the world, hosting 3,000 delegates from around the globe.

As the leader of the team, I am proud to say that we performed exemplarily. We were split into four delegations of two, and put into committees of about 300 that covered topics ranging from Free Trade Agreements to fourth-generation warfare in the Middle East. While in committees this large, it is hard to stand out amongst some of the best and brightest. Our team put its best foot forward, wowed the chairs and managed to pass several comprehensive resolutions through the UN General Assembly.

While also exploring the inner working of Parliamentary Procedure and the components of coherent debate, our team also managed to have a lot of fun exploring Philadelphia and making some really fantastic friends from everywhere from Virginia to Israel. As this is the first Model United Nations competition that our team has competed in, it is a landmark moment for Tower Hill. I am privileged to be a part of Tower Hill's Model UN team as we strive to excel and become global leaders that are prepared for the future.
