Jefferson Awards Winner: Middle School
The Upper School Jefferson Awards/Students in Action Team recognizes the entire Middle School as its monthly award winner for outstanding leadership and volunteering. Each Middle School grade participated in a day of service that included a variety of activities: sandwich making, bread baking, trash pick-up in the community, making vegetable snack bags, painting the Mt. Salem Cemetery fence and working at the Food Bank of Delaware. Our Middle School students collectively volunteered over 850 hours. Each volunteer hour in the state of Delaware is equal to 23.07 cents, resulting in a financial impact of over $20,000.
