Jade Olurin Recognized with Common Wealth Writing Award

Junior Jade Olurin was selected as a winner in the Common Wealth Writing Award Contest for her essay about child rights advocate Elizabeth Smart. Smart, actor Mandy Patinkin and journalist Bob Schieffer were honored at the Common Wealth Awards of Distinguished Service at the Hotel du Pont. The awards recognize talents in literature, science, invention, public service, government, sociology and dramatic arts. Each year, Delaware high school students enter the writing contest with an essay explaining why they would like to meet one of the honorees. “Jade Olurin beautifully represented Tower Hill,” said Mary Liz Biddle, PNC Vice President & Director of Client & Community Relations. “She is a treasure!” Read more in The News Journal.
