Congratulations and welcome to Tower Hill, Anthony.

Anthony Pisapia Named Chief Innovation and Information Officer

Anthony Pisapia will join Tower Hill as a senior administrator and the school’s Chief Innovation and Information Officer, a new position overseeing the effective integration of information technology (IT), infrastructure, academic technology, and curricular innovation.

Anthony currently serves as Head of School at Zip Code Wilmington, a start-up computer software development training boot camp and one of the first non-profit coding schools in the country. At Zip Code he supervises curriculum development, builds community relationships, oversees staffing and finances, and places graduates with partner companies. Since 2005, he has also been employed with Tech Impact, a global organization that provides IT support to nonprofits and implements technology workforce development programs.

“As Tower Hill commits to curricular innovation in teaching and learning, we need a forward-thinking, creative leader to frame an ongoing conversation about the future of education, ensuring our teachers and students have the support they need to try bold new initiatives in and out of the classroom,” Head of School Bessie Speers said. “Anthony will help us ask the right questions and envision ways to continue to distinguish Tower Hill within the city of Wilmington, the region and the country. His keen intellect and applicable experience with complex systems will surely take us to the next level.”

As part of the senior administrative team, Anthony will work collaboratively with the school community and advocate for curricular growth in order to advance the mission of the school and enhance students’ experiences. He will oversee all administrative aspects of technology programs and services in the school, including phone, security and related communication aspects. He will effectively allocate and manage resources to support strategic priorities and initiatives, providing leadership in the allocation and purchase of new equipment, software and related budget oversight.

“This opportunity at Tower Hill marries my love of technology and my love of education,” Anthony said. “I am excited to lead technology and innovation for the ‘hundred-year-old startup’ that is Tower Hill.”

Anthony holds dual bachelor’s degrees and a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Delaware. In recent years, he has been a board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Brandywine and StartupAfrica, an advisory board member of Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and a member of Delaware Tech Hire’s steering committee. Anthony and his family will be relocating to the Wilmington areas from Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. We welcome Anthony, his wife Allison, and his three children who will be attending Tower Hill this fall — Isla (3), Auden (7) and Luca (9) — to Tower Hill community. Anthony's appointment at Tower Hill will be effective July 1, 2016.
