What is your role at Tower Hill?
I am the head athletic trainer. I cover athletic contests and practices from 7th to 12th Grade. Athletic trainers are responsible for the prevention, recognition and assessment of athletic injuries.

How long have you been at Tower Hill?
I started in 2010, so this is my seventh year.

Briefly describe your own education.
I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in athletic training. I went back to UD for a master’s in Sports Medicine.

Why do you do what you do?
I enjoy athletic training very much. I like being able to work with kids in such a vibrant environment. There might be some healthcare settings where patients are unmotivated and the days can seem long or monotonous, but I don't have that here. The kids are unique and fun, and they make the job seem less like work. I would say that I am passionate about teaching the students to take care of their bodies, from their heads to their toes!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy refinishing furniture, gardening and animals. I coach swimming during the summer and play volleyball. I also love family time with my husband and two daughters.
