What is your role at Tower Hill?
I currently teach computers in K, 1, 3 and 7. I love working across two divisions, especially with the various grade levels. On any given day, I might be teaching the Kindergarten students how to click and drag using their mouse, helping an US student with a printing question or talking to MS students about coding. I collaborate with the teachers on classroom projects, and often partner with them to run quick tech sessions in order to share fun websites or ideas with other faculty members.

How long have you been at Tower Hill?
This is my eighth year at Tower Hill. I began teaching Kindergarten here in 2009. After teaching Kindergarten for 3 years, I then moved into my technology role. This is my 5th year in this position.

Briefly describe your own education.
My undergrad degree is from the University of Delaware in Early Childhood Education. I went back to school and earned my Masters in Applied Technology Education from Wilmington University in 2010.

Why do you do what you do? What are you passionate about at work?
I honestly love working with the students and the teachers here at Tower Hill. I am lucky because I am moving through all the different grade levels on a daily basis so my day stays interesting and fun. I love finding a new website and sharing it with the teachers. It is especially rewarding because the faculty here is extremely grateful for the help and ideas. The timeliness of this question is actually quite ironic because I often go home and tell my family about my day and share funny antidotes with them. Recently my son said to me, "Mom, I can tell you really love your job. The entertainment level those students provide to you on a daily basis seems to make you extremely happy!"

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love spending time with my family and friends. I am 1 of 6 children and we are all extremely close. I am grateful for the holidays and summer because this is when we are all together. I love to exercise and make sure I carve out time every day to workout. I also enjoy baking and my specialty is homemade chocolate chip cookies. I often joke that 60 minutes of exercise balances out at least 4 cookies!
