Hillers Take Six Conference Championships and Gear Up for State Tournaments

Congratulations to our spring sports teams for their incredibly strong season. Six teams--baseball, girls' tennis, boys' tennis, golf, girls' lacrosse and boys' lacrosse--have captured the Delaware Independent School Conference championships.

 

On the state level, four of our teams are ranked as top teams: girls' and boys' tennis - 1st in the state; golf - 2nd in the state; and boys' lacrosse - 3rd in the state.

 

The boys' tennis team achieved another major milestone with their 15-0 season--the first time the team has been undefeated in 26 years. Congratulations to captain Thomas Chilton, the entire team and coaches Deanna Nagy and Leigh Thompson.

 

Last weekend senior Ireland Gibson placed first in the 800 at the New Castle County Championships. In addition to setting a new personal record, she became the first female in the history of the school to win the 800 at the County competition. She enters the state championships this weekend as both undefeated and the number one seed. Way to go Ireland and coaches Annie Zeberkiewicz and James Erhardt!
