Upper School Production of "All in the Timing" Opens Oct. 24

Performances of the Upper School production of David Ives’ All in the Timing, a series of one-act plays, are set to run in the P.S. du Pont Theater on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The topsy-turvy world of David Ives comes to life in this intelligent and comedic work, which give commentary to the importance of language in human interaction. Three student designers, one student director and three guest faculty directors collaborated with the Tower Hill Theater Department to bring you this performance of disorientation and delight.

Ben Brantley, theater critic for The New York Times, captured the essence of All In The Timing this way: “...what makes the quick-sketch antics on display here throb affectingly are their visceral feelings of frustration and wonder. Among the main causes of those feelings? The limits and limitlessness of the tools of human communication. I mean those fallible, shimmering entities known (to borrow one of the plays’ titles) as 'Words, Words, Words.'"
