Gracie Firestone '11 Shares Message of Finding Gratitude through Challenges

As part of Tower Hill's school-wide “Gratitude” initiative, Gracie Firestone '11 spoke with Middle and Upper School students this week about her life experiences and why she is grateful. While attending Tower Hill, Gracie led her soccer team to a state championship title and started her own foundation, Let the Kids Play, to provide athletic equipment to disadvantaged youth.

Shortly after graduation, she suffered a cardiac arrest and almost lost her life. In 2012, she joined the efforts of the Flying Kites charity, raising funds to help children in an orphanage in Kenya. During her stay in Africa, she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro — proving she was a fighter and that she could do anything. Gracie graduated from the University of Delaware last spring and plans to attend medical school in the near future.
