Simi Olurin Recognized in Voice of Democracy Audio Contest
Freshman Simi Olurin has won the Voice of Democracy audio contest at the regional level, sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). VFW has a number of scholarship contests for high school students to enter, and the theme of this year’s Voice of Democracy audio contest was "My Vision For America."
“As a quite outspoken patriot, I thought that this would be the perfect contest for me to enter,” said Simi, who learned about the opportunity from History Chair Tara Malloy. “I really like writing, but even more than that, I like delivering speeches.” Click here for an audio recording of her speech.
