Mushers Bring Siberian Huskies to 3rd Grade

Third-grade students welcomed mushers Donna Quante and Carolyn McKenrick to the classroom, along with two Siberian huskies, Fritter and Copper. Ms. Quante and Ms. McKenrick shared stories of their dogsledding experiences in Alaska and time spent on the Iditarod Trail. After a captivating presentation and question-and-answer period, all moved outdoors to Rockford Park to cheer on Fritter and Copper as they demonstrated their impressive teamwork and fine mushing skills. The visit was a fun way to end the 3rd Grade's unit about the Iditarod.
