Water Wise: Levy Margolin Named YMCA Youth Volunteer of the Year and Bathing Suit Collection Underway

On May 24, 2016, Levy E. Margolin '19 will receive the Downtown YMCA's Youth Volunteer of the Year award for her commitment to the Water Wise program. Water Wise teaches water safety and swimming skills to underprivileged youth, ages 3 to 17, who do not have access to a pool. For the third summer in a row, Levy will volunteer for Water Wise and work with children from Sunday Breakfast Mission, the Boys and Girls Club and the Latin American Community Center. Deric Clinton, the YMCA's senior aquatic director who nominated Levy, said he wanted "to make sure she is acknowledged for her kind spirit and love for ensuring kids are able to attend basic swim lessons. She has been great, and we see firsthand how much she loves being a part of Water Wise."

Tower Hill will sponsor a school-wide fundraiser in the month of May, during which students are asked to donate new or gently used bathing suits to Water Wise outside the Lower School Office. The Lower and Middle Schools will have a $2 dress down day with the theme "April Showers Bring May Fowers" today (5/6), and the Upper School will have a dress down day on Friday, May 13.
