Pinwheels Planted for Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the students of Tower Hill participated in events to demonstrate awareness of the epidemic facing the children of our nation. April 7 is “Wear Blue Day” in Delaware, as Prevent Child Abuse chapters nationwide encourage everyone to wear blue – the color of child abuse prevention – as a signal of community support.

Students planted two pinwheel gardens, as the pinwheel is the symbol of Prevent Child Abuse Delaware (PCAD) and a reminder that every child deserves the chance at having a happy childhood. Lynn Wong, Director of Advancement of PCAD, joined us for our planting to help students understand that our garden will serve as a sign of advocacy and support for children who are less fortunate with respect to having safe and healthy childhoods.
