Leadership and Strategic Plan

Happy Holidays!

Dear parents,
As we gather in the Field House today for one of Tower Hill’s cherished traditions,Tree Trim, we recognize that our school community is all the more vibrant because of its diversity and the many ways we as families celebrate our own traditions, religions and beliefs. As a school, we welcome various symbols of the season, a Christmas tree being one of them. We wish a Happy Hanukkah to those in our community who are celebrating in the Jewish tradition, as Hanukkah began earlier this week. We are made all the richer as a community when we are able to embrace a variety of thoughts, opinions and religious and cultural traditions.
Our students are wonderfully open to learning about themselves within a larger context, and each day this week has been a joy to see the wonder, excitement and anticipation of the holidays. Giving and receiving are central themes of many holiday traditions. Of course it is always fun to receive, and there is nothing wrong with the excitement our children exhibit as they anticipate gifts. However, as part of a Tower Hill education, we help our students understand the power of giving by practicing it in many ways, including:

  • Gathering canned goods for Hiller Harvest
  • Collecting toys for The Stocking Project
  • 3rd Grade participating in Scholastic's Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive
  • 2nd Grade collecting socks and gloves for Friendship House
  • Upper School holding a shoe drive for children in the Philippines
I wish you each a wonderful holiday and thank you for giving us your children’s hearts and minds each day. They are amazing and give all of us hope.
Happy Holidays!
