Sophomore Advocating for Foster Children with Children & Families First

Marissa Washburn ’22 is partnering with Children & Families First to raise funds to help local foster children participate in extracurricular activities after school and during the summer. Marissa was a former foster youth within their program and was adopted by the Washburn family when she was 2 years old. She established the Foster Children's Enrichment Fund to give other foster children “a chance to pursue their individual interests, get positively involved in their community and ultimately to enhance their self-esteem.” She is also sharing her story as part of Children & Families First’s DoMore24 day of giving on Friday, March 6, 2020.
