Art in Gallery: Lower School Art Teacher Navanjali Jagatpal

We are excited that Navanjali Jagatpal, our new Lower School art teacher, will be displaying her own paintings this November at Tower Hill.

Ms. Jagatpal received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in painting at Syracuse University in 2005 and a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2007.

Many of the watercolor and oil paintings that she has chosen to share with us illustrate the figures of women from creative and unusual angles. Bold, bright colors immediately attract the eyes of viewers. Her paintings also demonstrate her exceptional talent for capturing intricate patterns and textures in layers of fabric and jewelry. The exquisite detail of her work makes even the most hurried students pause to admire as they pass through the gallery!

Ms. Jagatpal’s show will be on display November 2 until November 26 in the Pierre S. du Pont Arts Center lower gallery (open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).
