The Yale field hockey team had 11 student-athletes named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad. Among the players honored was junior forward/midfielder Emily Schuckert, an Academic All-Ivy League selection last fall and a former standout at Tower Hill.

The National Academic Squad recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.

The Bulldogs have earned the National Academic Team Award in each of their eight seasons under head coach Pam Stuper. The award is presented to all NCAA field hockey teams that had a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the fall of 2012.

Yale finished last season 6-11, 4-3 in the Ivy League. In 2012 they were the Ivy League champions.

In the season finale, Yale defeated Brown 2-1 with Schuckert recording assists on both goals. She finished the season with a team-best six assists in 17 games.

Schuckert was an all-conference and all-state selection at Tower Hill in '08, ’09 and '10. She was named the News Journal lacrosse player of the year in '10.
