Heidi Chu Wins National Award for Original Composition

Seventh grader Heidi Chu placed fourth in the National Golden Key Music Festival Piano Composition Competition for 2014 and received Honorable Mention in the International Competition.
This is the third consecutive year that Heidi has won awards at the competition. She competed in the junior category, which included musicians ages 11 - 14 from all over the world. Her piece was entitled "Up Up Up!" As a winner, she has been invited to join the 2014 Tour of the Golden Key Festival in Vienna and to perform their compositions on the stage of Ehrbaar Hall at the World Young Composers' Recital in August 2014.

The Golden Key Piano Composition Competition objective is to encourage creativity and self-expression in student composers and to provide an opportunity for winning compositions to reach an international audience at the World Young Composers' Recitals.
