Leadership and Strategic Plan

New Faculty

Dear Tower Hill families,

This week our faculty and staff gathered for opening meetings to usher in the new school year and reflect on our collective goals. We welcomed new members to our team, who are listed below; they each bring great energy and expertise to share with our students. Among various interests and backgrounds, we have a former neuroscience researcher, a mindfulness expert, Hungarian, Canadian and Chinese natives, a triplet, a children’s cooking teacher/author and a classically trained guitarist. Many Things Done Well, indeed!

As part of our meeting, together we re-affirmed our school’s mission:

Tower Hill School prepares students from diverse backgrounds for full and creative engagement with a dynamic world. Each student is provided with an educational experience that emphasizes the development of an inquisitive, discerning and critical mind; the value of being creative and aesthetically sensitive; the appreciation of physical well being; the ability to collaborate and to function as part of a team; and the growth of character.

Our faculty and staff are deeply committed to delivering on and ensuring this mission come alive each and every day with our students through academics, arts, athletics and character development. We continually look for new ways to challenge and nurture our students, whether in the classroom or out in the community, and we could not be more excited to see you and your children next week!

At opening faculty meeting, I shared this quotation by Bill Gates, Sr. which sums up nicely the spirit in which our teachers are truly committed to showing up for classes next week. We know your wonderful students will too!

“Life is the ultimate teacher, but it is usually through experience and not scientific research that we discover deeper lessons. We are all here for a single purpose: to grow in wisdom and learn to love. We can do this through losing as well as winning, by having and by not having, by succeeding and by failing. All we need to do is show up open hearted for class…”

Have a good Labor Day weekend,
