Tower Hill Named 2015-2016 DIAA State Champions in Sportsmanship

Tower Hill has been named a Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) State Champion in Sportsmanship for the eleventh consecutive year. In this annual statewide competition in sportsmanship, DIAA member schools compete against a set of ten standards — not against other schools. The process is demanding and involves the total school community. Member schools submit an extensive application book that is judged by a sportsmanship committee to determine whether each school has successfully met the standards.

"All of these schools are led by energetic and innovative Sportsmanship Committees that are constantly looking for new ways to promote sportsmanship," DIAA Executive Director Tommie Neubauer said. "They truly embrace the philosophy that sportsmanship is not just something you talk about, but a way of life for all student-athletes and team members that is demonstrated by their behavior and actions."

Neubauer presented the award to Athletic Director Jack Holloway during this week's fall sportsmanship rally.
