Drew Keim

What is your role at Tower Hill? Director of Upper School Bands and Grades 4-8 Brass and Percussion

How long have you been at Tower Hill? This is my second year.

Briefly describe your own education. Mount Pleasant High School, University of Delaware (Bachelor of Arts - Music Education) and Wilmington University (Master's of School Leadership).

Why do you do what you do? I teach because I was blessed with several teachers who made a profoundly positive impact on my life. If I can make even a fraction of the impact my teachers had on me, I'd consider my career a success.

What are you passionate about at work? I'm passionate about music, because it is woven into every fabric of the human experience. It's not even about training students to be great musicians someday — that's a great by-product, no doubt — but, there are things about being in a music program that can not be replicated in any other activity.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Spending time with my wife and children, training with my triathlon team, adjudicating bands and traveling to new and exciting places.

What are you reading? Ron Chernow's Hamilton... or the newest TIME magazine.
