THS Writers Recognized in Scholastic Writing Awards

Congratulations to this year’s students recognized by the Scholastic Writing Awards. Heidi Chu '19 received a Gold Key in the Critical Essay category for her essay titled "Power of Play: Barbie's Impact," as well as a Silver Key in the Critical Essay category. Simi Olurin '19 received a Gold Key in the Humor category for her piece titled "Netflix and...Just Netflix," as well as Silver Keys in the Critical Essay and Short Story categories. Zahra Narvel '19 received a Gold Key in the Critical Essay category. Skye Wu '19 received a Silver Key in the Critical Essay category, as well as honorable mention in the Poetry category. Jasmine Minhas '18 received honorable mention in the Poetry catergory. Jacob Frietze '22 received honorable mention in the Short Story catergory. The National League of American Pen Women administers the Delaware Writing Region of the Scholastic Awards to encourage young writers.
