Kristin Mumford to Oversee Advancement and Enrollment Management

After a search yielding a local, regional and national candidate pool, it was determined that the strongest candidate for the position was already here at Tower Hill. Director of Admission Kristin Mumford will take on the role of Director of Advancement and Enrollment Management, a senior leadership position that oversees both the advancement and admission functions of the school. Kristin joined Tower Hill from Archmere Academy in 2016, bringing a personalized approach to Admission outreach that has contributed significantly to strong enrollment and retention. She has also assisted with major gift work for the last year in the Advancement Office and demonstrated talent for inspiring philanthropic support.

Kristin will transition to her expanded role this spring, benefiting from overlap with Interim Director of Advancement and Director of Alumni Programs Kathy Warner, who last year shared her plans to retire at the end of the 2017-2018 school year. Kathy joined Tower Hill in 2005 to strengthen alumni outreach and engagement around the country. Her many accomplishments include improving communication with alumni across the decades, increasing involvement of the Alumni Council at Tower Hill and growing attendance and programming at Homecoming and Reunion. She has enhanced the annual Golf Outing, organized countless alumni receptions and events, and kept alumni informed through the Bulletin magazine and The Lookout e-newsletter.

To ensure continued strength in both Advancement and Admission and to leverage important synergy between both of these offices, Kristin will continue to oversee our strategic direction in enrollment management. We are fortunate to have strong bench strength within our Admission Office. To this end, Bill Ushler will take on the role of Director of Financial Aid and Upper School Admission, and Amy Bickhart will take on the role of Director of Lower/Middle School Admission and will continue as Assistant Head of Lower School. Since Kristin’s office will be located in the Advancement Office, we will hire an admission associate who will report to Bill and Amy.
