Students Graduate from Delaware Youth Leadership Network

On April 23, Dean Saridakis ‘19 and Jake Spruance ‘19 graduated from the Delaware Youth Leadership Network (DYLN). DYLN is a program that teaches high school juniors skills in public speaking, networking, design thinking and leadership. DYLN Scholars showcased these skills at “Highschool 360,” a seminar for high school freshmen that are interested in developing their own leadership skills. Scholars developed workshops that taught subjects ranging from interview skills, to time management, to stress relief. The program is very valuable for any junior interested in developing leadership skills.

“DYLN was a fantastic experience all around," Spruance said. "In addition to meeting several like-minded individuals in the Wilmington area, I was able to further my public speaking skills and engage in the process of design thinking, which has helped me a lot in terms of organizing school projects.”

Next year, the program will shift its primary focus to design thinking and entrepreneurship.
