Students Celebrate Day of the Dead

Second graders are currently learning about Day of the Dead in Spanish class as part of the Lower School Passport Program. On Tuesday, second grade parent Maria Tello Bernabe spoke with students about how she celebrates el Día de los Muertos. She made an altar for the children and shared a Catrina costume from her friend who has been helping with the festival in Philadelphia. Middle School students also set up a Mexican Día de los Muertos offering in the Language Hallway, and seventh graders put their names on sugar skulls as a whimsical way to celebrate the occasion.
