Upper Schoolers Participate in Third Annual Winterim

This week Upper School students participated in the third annual Winterim, a dedicated period within our academic program that focuses on well-being, self-advocacy, building connections, the college admission process and life skills. The theme of the freshman seminar was increasing self-understanding in the service of self-care and wellness. Keynote speaker Brian Selander (pictured above), president of ownable, spoke about why young people are the best positioned generation in history to make history. The talk was followed by sessions on positive psychology and drug and alcohol use prevention. The theme of the sophomore seminar was Building Connections and Class Empathy; juniors learned about the college search and selection process; and seniors learned life skills like budgeting and personal finance, travel tips, consent and healthy relationships and more.
