Students Celebrate Chinese New Year

Students in every division have been celebrating Chinese New Year and learning about its traditions. Feb. 1, 2022, marks the beginning of the Year of the Tiger. Upper School students participated in an assembly on Wednesday that was organized by Upper School history teacher Maurice Rapp, the Global Studies team and language teacher Wendy Liu. This assembly focused on the history and traditions of Chinese New Year. Middle Schoolers attended a Chinese New Year assembly on Thursday, during which students performed a traditional Chinese fan dance and Aileen Zhang '26 performed a tai chi dance. Lower Schoolers will learn about Lunar New Year at an assembly on Tuesday.
