"King's Dream" Performed for Upper and Middle Schools

Last Tuesday, January 15th, the Middle and Upper School celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The Diversity office, along with the support from the Home & School Performing Arts Committee, brought Key Arts Productions' presentation entitled King's Dream. We thought it was a perfect time to celebrate the civil rights movement and the achievements of Dr. King on the day of his birthday, January 15th. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of his death.

King's Dream was a dynamic multimedia performance that offered a tribute to the civil rights movement and its leader. The assembly included live musical performance, archival film footage from the 50's and 60's, and informative commentary.

Following the assembly, many teachers continued the discussion of the civil rights movement in their classrooms. Prior to the event, they were given student worksheets that contained a list of 20 questions that would be discussed during the assembly.
