Lori Van Sickle Inducted into Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame

Tower Hill congratulates Lori Van Sickle, Chair of the Tower Hill Green & White Club and past parent, who was inducted into the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame on May 17. Lori's diverse athletic talents were obvious in her youth when she played field hockey and basketball. In high school she earned nine varsity letters, the maximum, while achieving All-State honors in softball, basketball and volleyball. She earned a scholarship to Ohio University for softball, before transferring to the University Delaware. At 21, she took up her fifth sport – golf – and turned pro five years later. At 30 she was named head pro at the DuPont Country Club and was the only female in that position at any LPGA Tour site in the country. In 2000, she appeared on NBC's Today Show and provided golf instruction for Kate Couric. In 2001 she became the first Certified Master Professional in the PGA of America. Lori is the co-founder of the Special Olympics Delaware golf program and serves as a board member. As chairs of the Green and White Club, Tower Hill's sports booster organization, Lori and her husband Mike have contributed significantly to the life of athletics at Tower Hill, even after their daughters Caitlin '08 and Taylor '11 graduated.
