Dr. S. Ward (Trip) Casscells III '70 Passes Away


We are saddened to share that Dr. S. Ward (Trip) Casscells III '70 passed away on October 14. Casscells was a former Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) and principal advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Defense for health issues. He led the recovery from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center shortfalls in 2007.

Casscells was featured in the 2007 Tower Hill Bulletin magazine after serving on active duty in the Army Reserve in Iraq. The school was honored to have him speak to our community in the Forum speaker series in 2007 on the theme Achieving Peace, Stability and Democracy in the Middle East.
