Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent to Accept Athletic Scholarships

On November 16, seniors Meghan Cobb and Will Mette met with family, friends, coaches and Headmaster Chris Wheeler to sign National Letters of Intent to play college lacrosse next year. Congratulations to our student-athletes!

Meghan Cobb, a three-sport senior, has signed a National Letter of Intent to accept an athletic scholarship to play lacrosse at the University of Vermont beginning in August 2013. Cobb is a two-time Delaware Independent School Conference first-team selection and was named to the 2012 All-State first team as a junior. She is the only Delaware lacrosse player to be selected three times (2010, 2011, 2012) to the U.S. Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament team for the Delaware and Eastern Shore Region. Cobb was twice named to the Under Armour All-America Philadelphia region team and in 2012 was named by All-Phillylacrosse.com as a northern Delaware Player of the Year. She plays club lacrosse for the nationally ranked Phantastix Lacrosse Club based in Conestoga, PA. Cobb also plays varsity volleyball and basketball at Tower Hill. She is currently entering her senior lacrosse season, where she plays midfield for Coach Wiz Applegate’s Hillers. Tower Hill advanced to the state girls’ lacrosse semifinals in 2011 and 2012.

Will Mette, a three-sport senior and Scholar with Distinction, has signed a National Letter of Intent accepting an athletic scholarship to play lacrosse at Colgate University beginning in August 2013. Throughout his high school career, Will has played varsity lacrosse for Coach Brad du Pont. He began playing club lacrosse in 4th grade with the Wilmington Wings, and more recently has been a member of the Pennsylvania-based Dukes Lacrosse Club and Team 302 in Delaware. He was named to the first team All-Conference and first team All-State lacrosse teams. The Tower Hill boys' lacrosse team won the state championship in 2010 and advanced to the semifinals in 2011. In addition to playing lacrosse, Will is a captain of the football team and runs winter track.
