Emily Samson Tepe '96 will perform on May 11 for the king and queen of Sweden during their visit to Delaware to celebrate Wilmington's 375th anniversary.

The performer, also known as "Iva," and famed Finnish pianist Marja Kaisla will play Swedish art songs at the gala dinner. Emily's ancestor, Per Larsson Kock, was on the third voyage of that ship, and his adventure led to her family's life here in Delaware.

Emily was also highlighted in the May issue of Delaware Today magazine, as one of the folks doing purely "what they love." She admits, "the truth is that I spend all my days focused on making music, and that is a blessing I wish everyone could have."
