Christina Freibott '12 Named Field Hockey MVP at Columbia
The Columbia field hockey team recently held its annual banquet and named Christina Freibott as its Most Valuable Player.
“Every member of this program is valuable in some shape or form,” coach Marybeth Freeman told the school’s website. “However, Christina was able to control the tempo of the game with her commanding presence o n both sides of the ball and hold herself and team accountable. Not only did she make valuable contributions, finishing with five goals [including two gamewinners], six assists and team high 41 shots on goal, she challenged her teammates to take their skills to the next level making our program stronger as a whole.”
Freibott, a former captain and standout at Tower Hill, was also named to the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll twice (Oct. 13 and Oct. 20).
