Tower Hill School seeks a collaborative, thoughtful and reliable full-time Assistant/Associate Director of Communications and Marketing to drive and manage projects in storytelling and creative content for the school. This position focuses on writing and editing projects for multiple communication channels, while also contributing to photography and digital projects as part of a cohesive team. A central focus of the role will be on creating work products that trumpet the joy and value of a Tower Hill education to prospective families, supporting the work of the Enrollment Management team.
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Assistant/Associate Director of Communications and Marketing is a key member of a three-person communications team and will lead writing and copyediting efforts, helping to create the school’s narrative internally and externally. In addition, the Assistant/Associate Director will contribute to institutional storytelling in a broad range of materials including newsletters, social media, biannual school magazine, website, alumni outreach and email communications.
The Assistant/Associate Director of Communications and Marketing will work in tandem with the Director of Communications and Marketing to manage the school’s communications strategy, messaging and branding. The candidate will build and maintain strong relationships across the school community by partnering with the admission office, faculty, alumni, students, and parents to craft and refine the school’s story and voice by discovering and amplifying news, successes, diversity, service, and humanity.

Ideal candidates should possess the following credentials and qualities:

Kaleidoscope is our extended day program and is considered part of our Lower and Middle School day program, where there’s time for a snack, homework, activities and relaxation. Students have the opportunity to unwind from their busy day, interact with friends and engage in a variety of activities.

Tower Hill is looking for energetic and motivated substitute teachers and/or proctors to work with teachers at all levels, from Preschool to Upper School, in a hybrid learning environment. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and enjoy working across different disciplines. Flexibility in schedules is helpful as there are times we need a substitute without advanced notice.
Substitutes will be provided with lesson plans from the full-time classroom teacher and are asked to follow those in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning. Department Leadership Responsibilities:
- Conduct observations and evaluations of teachers, with particular emphasis on those who need more attention or who are due for a more in-depth review, including new teachers.
- Ensure the proper sequence and documentation of content and skills within the department.

Upper School Physics Teacher
Tower Hill School seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Upper School Physics Teacher beginning in August of 2026. The ideal candidate will have a broad academic background in the sciences and the ability to teach Physics and is responsible for delivering scientific content in an engaging and meaningful way in line with the mission and goals of Tower Hill School. The science curriculum at Tower Hill goes beyond the traditional textbook and incorporates real-life examples, hands-on and inquiry-based experimentation to fully engage the interdisciplinary nature of Physics. We seek a teacher who can build on this existing foundation. Tower Hill School seeks substitute school nurses for per diem coverage in a PreK-12 independent school setting. The successful candidate will be student-centered and committed to a team approach to school-wide health and wellness. This position requires a high degree of interpersonal communication and organizational skills in addition to general nursing duties. Experience in pediatric or community health is preferred.

Tower Hill School is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Head Coach for Varsity Girls Tennis starting with the 2025-2026 academic year.
Tower Hill strives to build upon a competitive varsity girls tennis program that has achieved a high level of success in both team and individual competitions. Candidates are expected to have a thorough understanding of skill development and utilize coaching strategies that motivate players and build a positive team culture. In addition to coaching responsibilities and team management, the head coach assumes general oversight of sub-varsity and middle school teams, coordinates the girls tennis coaching staff, and is expected to contribute in admission functions when necessary. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate the ways in which inclusive and equitable practices inform their approach to coaching and team building within the program.
This position is compensated with a stipend, and coaches are required to abide by the rules and regulations established by the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association as well as all Tower Hill School policies and procedures

- Three or more years of previous tennis coaching experience at the high school, club, and/or college level.

Tower Hill School is looking to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill future coaching opportunities beginning with the 2023-2024 academic year.
The athletics program at Tower Hill competes in the Delaware Independent Schools Conference and Delaware Interscholastic Athletics Association, offering 15 sports at the middle school level (grades 7-8) and 19 sports at the upper school level (grades 9-12). Tower Hill believes that the physical well being of our students is as important as their intellectual development and that many important lessons are taught through an athletic experience. Therefore, athletics are a fundamental part of the total curriculum at Tower Hill and are an integral part of the school day. Students in grades 7-10 are expected to participate in interscholastic athletics during each season while students in grades 11-12 are expected to participate in interscholastic athletics during two of the three seasons.
The objectives of teachers and coaches at Tower Hill are identical: to help young people reach their fullest potential intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Coaches are teachers who deal with physical fitness as well as the fundamentals and strategies of sport. We must offer our student athletes, who vary in their interest and ability, quality programs that appropriately challenge them to stretch their outer limits of endurance, self-discipline, loyalty, self-confidence, leadership, cooperation, and winning and losing graciously. During the summer of 2026, Horizons at Tower Hill will welcome back three 15-person classes of rising 2nd through 4th graders and will welcome one new class of 15 rising 1st graders. Our Math Specialist will work primarily with older students (rising 3rd and 4th) but may see students across grade bands on an as-needs basis. It is our hope that Horizons summer staff members will return to the program for more than one summer as we continue to work together, support our students and build the program and the community.
About the Position

Key Responsibilities
Prior to the summer program beginning:
Work with the Leadership Team to set programmatic goals, identify resources, create schedules, set professional development and plan for the summer/school-year programs.
Attend orientation and professional development sessions prior to the start of the program.
Support classroom teachers as they design and teach high quality, culturally responsive, project-based curriculum and engage students in learning mathematics throughout our six week summer enrichment program throughout the summer and during pre-summer professional days.
Complete all required online STAR Assessment Training.
During the summer program:
Coordinate and oversee pre- and post-student assessments.
Work with relevant staff members to plan instruction using data, including supporting teachers in identifying individual students' learning profiles, building on each youth's academic strengths and coordinating resources/activities to best address their areas of need.
Provide individual and/or small group instruction to students to help develop math skills.
Train/advise volunteers and interns as needed to work with students as math tutors or to support small group instruction.
Meet with program leaders to review progress towards program goals and/or problem solve as issues occur.
Assist in evaluating program effectiveness.
Participate in student arrival, meals and departure.
Attend faculty meetings once a week.
Establish and maintain lasting relationships with students, families and staff.
Help maintain ongoing communication with caregivers and school year teachers, where appropriate.
Develop and ensure a safe, respectful, challenging and joyful learning environment.
Fulfill additional responsibilities as determined by Horizons Tower Hill.

Position Overview
Horizons at Tower Hill School is seeking a dedicated program coordinator. We are looking for a professional, caring individual with the ability to engage volunteers in their opportunities throughout the day, as well as students in programmatic elements throughout our six-week summer enrichment program. Candidates must be willing to work as a team player to build this vibrant program and together with the program manager, support the volunteers to help fulfill the Horizons mission. It is our hope that Horizons summer staff will be open to returning to the program for more than one summer, as we continue to work together, support our students, and build the program and the community.
This is a temporary in-person position located at 2813 West 17th Street, Wilmington, DE, 19806.
Essential Job Functions
The Program Coordinator will work with the program manager and executive director to establish and carry out specific program elements throughout the six weeks. The program coordinator will also play a key role in coordinating and developing student volunteers.
Specifically, the Program Coordinator will:
Assist in the coordination of all standardized assessments and the swimming program in terms of the pre/post and any ongoing assessments including logistics and data sharing across the organization.
- Support transportation throughout the summer.
- Assist with any staff or volunteer development to accomplish academic growth for each student.
- Assist with the distribution of materials throughout the course of the program.
- Model youth leadership for the program volunteers.
- Support the program manager in volunteer feedback and development plans.
- Support teacher differentiation needs through student groupings.
- Coordinate classroom resources.
- Meet regularly with Administration as needed to accomplish goals and/or problem-solve as issues occur.
Qualifications
In addition to a strong commitment to Horizon’s mission, this position requires a balance of knowledge of best practices for student support roles, as well as a willingness to learn in a fast paced environment. More detailed qualifications for this position include:
- At least 16 years of age
- At least one year of experience with Horizons Tower Hill or a comparable volunteer/professional position.
- Interest and experience in childcare and education and/ or interest and experience in non-profit management.
- Ability to relate effectively to a diverse community and demonstrate an understanding of culturally responsive instruction.
- Knowledge of childcare best practices.
- Student/youth leadership
